Lean Culture (Online Class)
July 20 @ 8:30 am - 11:30 am
The Lean Enterprise Institute estimates that 99% of Lean Initiatives fail by the end of the third year. Although there are many reasons for this, the major one is the failure to take into account the power of an organizational culture to resist change
Unfortunately, Newton’s Third Law of Motion, “for every action by the organization, there is an equal and opposite reaction” applies to efforts to change the organizational culture. The greater the effort to introduce change, the greater “push back” by the organizational culture, giving rise to resistance to change by groups of influential employees (including management), and the tendency of processes to revert back to their previous state after Lean projects have made improvements.
In this course participants will learn:
- What is a Lean Culture?
- Lean Cultural Assessment – What aspects of your organization culture need to be improved to support Lean and Continuous Improvement efforts over the long-term?
- How do you make those improvements within the existing culture?
